TAY OR KOTO

A medium to fairly large tree, up to 35 meters high. It comes from the West African forests. Present from Sierra Leone to Angola and the Republic of Congo. It can also be found in the dry regions of northern Gabon. It is used to produce wood panels, interior cabinetry, crown molding, furniture, light carpentry panels. The core wood is yellowish white to cream, sometimes with beautiful speckles, the grain is moderately coarse.
